ASC SYSTEM OPERATION CHECK


  1. INSPECT ASC SYSTEM OPERATION

    CAUTION:

    Check for safety before performing any tests.

    Tech Tips

    If the drive mode is changed to a mode other than NORMAL, SPORT S, SPORT S+ or CUSTOM* while the ASC system is operating, the engine sounds will stop.

    *: Idling sound are generated when CUSTOM mode is set to Normal or Power on the Drive mode customization or Drive mode customisation screen of the multi-display.

    1. Idling sound inspection (except CUSTOM mode)


      1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

      3. Select NORMAL, SPORT S or SPORT S+ mode.

      4. When either of the following conditions is met, check that the idling sound is output.


        • After the power switch is turned on (READY), with the shift lever in P, the accelerator pedal is depressed to start the engine.

        • The vehicle is driven at a speed of 0.1 km/h or more.

        Tech Tips

        Check that the sound changes when the drive mode is changed from a mode other than ECO (non-operating condition), NORMAL (operating condition), SPORT S (operating condition) or SPORT S+ (operating condition).

    2. Idling sound inspection (CUSTOM mode)


      1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

      3. Check that CUSTOM mode has been set to Power on the Drive mode customization or Drive mode customisation screen of the multi-display.

      4. Select CUSTOM mode.

      5. When either of the following conditions is met, check that the idling sound is output.


        • After the power switch is turned on (READY), with the shift lever in P, the accelerator pedal is depressed to start the engine.

        • The vehicle is driven at a speed of 0.1 km/h or more.

    3. Driving sound inspection (except CUSTOM mode)


      1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

      3. Select NORMAL, SPORT S or SPORT S+ mode.

      4. Move the shift lever to D or S and drive the vehicle at 13 km/h (8 mph) or more. According to the driving conditions (vehicle speed, accelerator pedal opening angle, etc.), check that simulated driving sounds resembling transmission up shifts and down shifts can be heard.

        Check that the sound changes when the drive mode is changed from a mode other than ECO (non-operating condition), NORMAL (operating condition), SPORT S (operating condition) or SPORT S+ (operating condition).

    4. Driving sound inspection (CUSTOM mode)


      1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

      3. Check that CUSTOM mode has been set to Power on the Drive mode customization or Drive mode customisation screen of the multi-display.

      4. Select CUSTOM mode.

      5. Move the shift lever to D or S and drive the vehicle at 13 km/h (8 mph) or more. According to the driving conditions (vehicle speed, accelerator pedal opening angle, etc.), check that simulated driving sounds resembling transmission up shifts and down shifts can be heard.

    5. Afterfire sound inspection


      1. Turn the power switch on (READY).

      2. Turn the vehicle sound switch on.

      3. Select SPORT S+ mode.

      4. Move the shift lever to D or S and while driving the vehicle at 13 km/h (8 mph) or more, quickly decrease the accelerator pedal opening angle from 80% or more to 0% within 0.35 seconds and check that the afterfire sound can be heard.
