STEERING WHEEL(w/ Lane Departure Alert System) INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

Note


  • Do not replace the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch ON (IG).

  • Do not rotate the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly without the steering wheel assembly with the auxiliary battery connected and the power switch ON (IG).

  • Ensure that the steering wheel assembly is installed and aligned straight when inspecting the steering sensor.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL STEERING SHAKE DAMPER


    1. Install the steering shake damper to the steering wheel sub-assembly with the 2 screws.

      Torque:
      2.4 N*m  { 24 kgf*cm, 21 in.*lbf }

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 SWITCH WIRE

      Engage the 4 guides to install the No. 1 switch wire to the lower steering wheel boss cover.

      Note

      If the heater thermistor comes off the lower steering wheel cover, replace the steering wheel assembly.

  3. INSTALL STEERING VIBRATION AND HEATER ECU

  4. INSTALL SHIFT PADDLE SWITCH (TRANSMISSION SHIFT SWITCH ASSEMBLY)

  5. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH

  7. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

  8. INSPECT AND ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE WITH SENSOR SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

      *a Matchmark

      Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft to install the steering wheel assembly.

    2. Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

      Torque:
      50 N*m  { 510 kgf*cm, 37 ft.*lbf }
    3. B004GSX

      Connect the connector.

    4. B004GAT

      Connect the 2 connectors to the spiral cable with sensor sub-assembly.

    5. B004EIX

      Pass the wire harness over the 2 guides of the steering shake damper.
