SHIFT LEVER INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL TRANSMISSION FLOOR SHIFT ASSEMBLY


    1. B004EC6N01

      Temporarily install the transmission floor shift assembly to the vehicle body with the 4 bolts.

      Note

      Do not pinch the wire harness.

    2. Fully tighten the 4 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      8.3 N*m  { 85 kgf*cm, 73 in.*lbf }
    3. Connect the shift lock control ECU connector.

      Note

      Be sure to securely connect the shift lock control ECU connector.

    4. Connect the 4 clamps to the transmission floor shift assembly.

    5. Connect the transmission control switch connector.

      Note

      Be sure to securely connect the transmission control switch connector.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 CONSOLE BOX DUCT


    1. Install the No. 1 console box duct with the 2 clips.

    2. Connect the 2 clamps to the No. 1 console box duct.

  3. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  4. INSTALL FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Turn the transmission control shaft lever counterclockwise until it stops, then turn it clockwise 2 notches.

    2. Move the shift lever to N.

      Temporarily install the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly to the lever of the transmission floor shift assembly with the nut.

    4. Tighten the nut while lightly pushing the lever of the transmission floor shift assembly rearward.

      Torque:
      12.8 N*m  { 131 kgf*cm, 9 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Do not push the lever of the transmission floor shift assembly too hard.

  5. INSTALL FRONT NO. 1 FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

  6. INSTALL FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY (TWC: Rear Catalyst)

  7. INSTALL SHIFT LEVER CAP

      *a Groove

      Engage the 2 claws to install the shift lever cap to the shift position indicator.

      Note

      Install the shift lever cap with its groove facing the rear of the vehicle.

  8. INSPECT SHIFT LEVER POSITION
