PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  2. REMOVE NO. 4 ULTRASONIC SENSOR (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  3. REMOVE NO. 3 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  4. REMOVE NO. 4 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

  5. REMOVE NO. 3 LUGGAGE ROOM WIRE (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

      Disengage the 3 clamps and remove the No. 3 luggage room wire.

  6. REMOVE ULTRASONIC SENSOR CLIP (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

    Tech Tips

    When removing the ultrasonic sensor clip, heat the rear bumper assembly and ultrasonic sensor clip using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature
    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Assembly 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Ultrasonic Sensor Clip 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    CAUTION:


    • Do not touch the heat light and heated parts, touching the heat light may result in burns.

    • Touching heated parts for a long time may result in burns.

    Note

    Do not heat the rear bumper assembly or ultrasonic sensor clip excessively.

      Remove the 3 ultrasonic sensor clips.

  7. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PLATE LH

      Remove the 2 screws.

      Remove the grommet and rear bumper plate LH.

  8. REMOVE REAR BUMPER PLATE RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  9. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION LH

      Remove the 4 screws.

      Remove the 3 grommets and rear bumper extension LH.

  10. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  11. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE MOUNTING BRACKET LH

      Remove the 2 bolts, 2 nuts and rear bumper side mounting bracket LH.

  12. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE MOUNTING BRACKET RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY LH

      Remove the screw.

      Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration to remove the reflex reflector assembly LH.

  14. REMOVE REFLEX REFLECTOR ASSEMBLY RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  15. REMOVE CENTER REAR BUMPER EXTENSION SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 3 clips.

    2. Disengage the 7 claws and 3 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the center rear bumper extension sub-assembly.

  16. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION RETAINER LH

      Remove the screw and 4 clips.

      Disengage the 2 claws and 2 guides as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper extension retainer LH.

  17. REMOVE REAR BUMPER EXTENSION RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  18. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SEAL BRACKET LH

    Tech Tips

    When removing the rear bumper seal bracket LH, heat the rear bumper extension retainer LH and rear bumper seal bracket LH using a heat light.

    Heating Temperature
    Item Temperature
    Rear Bumper Extension Retainer LH 40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)
    Rear Bumper Seal Bracket LH 20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    Note

    Do not heat the rear bumper extension retainer LH or rear bumper seal bracket LH excessively.

      Separate the double-sided tape and remove the rear bumper seal bracket LH as shown in the illustration.

  19. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SEAL BRACKET RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  20. REMOVE REAR BUMPER MOULDING (for Mesh Type Radiator Grille)

      Remove the 5 screws.

      Disengage the 6 claws as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper moulding.

  21. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH

      Disengage the 3 clips as shown in the illustration.

      Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration to remove the rear bumper side retainer LH.

  22. REMOVE REAR BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  23. DISCONNECT REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER LH

      Remove the 2 screws and grommet and disconnect the rear wheel house liner LH.

  24. DISCONNECT REAR WHEEL HOUSE LINER RH

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  25. REMOVE LOWER REAR BUMPER RETAINER LH

      Remove the 2 screws.

      Disengage the claw as shown in the illustration to remove the lower rear bumper retainer LH.

  27. REMOVE REAR BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER (for Type A)
