  • Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  • The following procedure is for the LH side.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE HEADLIGHT GASKET

  3. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LIGHT CONTROL ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY (w/ Adaptive High Beam System)

  4. REMOVE HEADLIGHT GASKET (w/ Adaptive High Beam System)

  5. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LENS

    Note


    • Make sure to wear clean rubber gloves when performing this procedure.

    • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter to get on the headlight lens.

    • If there are any fingerprints or foreign matter on the back of the headlight lens, wipe them off with a soft cloth.

      Remove the 4 screws.

    2. A01VXF7

      Using a T20H "TORX" driver, remove the 4 "TORX" screws.

    3. A01VW8I

      Using a dryer, heat the backside of the headlight assembly.

      Note

      If the headlight assembly is heated unevenly, it will deform or melt.

    4. A01VUT4

      Disengage the 9 claws.

    5. Remove the headlight lens.

      Tech Tips

      If the headlight lens cannot be removed even after heating, using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, lift the headlight lens. Be careful not to damage the headlight lens and housing.

  6. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LENS GASKET

      Remove the headlight lens gasket.

      Note

      Make sure to replace the headlight lens gasket with a new one. Failure to do so may cause water ingress.

  7. REMOVE NO. 2 HEADLIGHT COVER

    Note


    • Make sure to wear clean rubber gloves when performing this procedure.

    • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter to get on the No. 2 headlight cover or other components.

    • If there are any fingerprints or foreign matter on the No. 2 headlight cover or other components, wipe them off with a soft cloth.

      Remove the 3 screws.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides to remove the No. 2 headlight cover.

  8. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LED UNIT ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • Make sure to wear clean rubber gloves when performing this procedure.

    • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter to get on the headlight LED unit assembly or other components.

    • If there are any fingerprints or foreign matter on the headlight LED unit assembly or other components, wipe them off with a soft cloth.


    1. A01VUGW

      Disconnect each connector.

    2. Disengage the 3 guides to remove the headlight LED unit assembly.

  9. REMOVE NO. 2 HEADLIGHT BACK COVER

    Note


    • Make sure to wear clean rubber gloves when performing this procedure.

    • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter to get on the No. 2 headlight back cover or other components.

    • If there are any fingerprints or foreign matter on the No. 2 headlight back cover or other components, wipe them off with a soft cloth.


    1. w/ Adaptive High Beam System:


      1. Disengage the clamp.

      *A w/ Adaptive High Beam System

      Remove the 2 screws.

    3. Disengage the 2 claws and guide to remove the No. 2 headlight back cover.

  10. REMOVE HEADLIGHT UNIT ASSEMBLY

    Note


    • Make sure to wear clean rubber gloves when performing this procedure.

    • Do not allow dirt or foreign matter to get on the headlight unit assembly or other components.

    • If there are any fingerprints or foreign matter on the headlight unit assembly or other components, wipe them off with a soft cloth.


    1. Disconnect each connector.

    2. A01VUNR

      Remove the screw.

    3. Disengage the claw and 2 guides to remove the inner lens cover.

    4. A01VVOI

      Remove the screw.

    5. Disengage the claw and 2 guides to remove the center lens cover.

      *1 Pivot Collar
      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the 2 claws to separate the headlight unit assembly from the pivot collar.

      Tech Tips

      If the headlight unit assembly interferes with the screwdriver, making it difficult to disengage the claws, turn the horizontal aiming screw to move the headlight unit assembly to the point where the claws can be disengaged.

      B005OOA Turn in this Direction

      While holding the headlight unit assembly by hand, turn the aiming screws as shown in the illustration until the headlight unit assembly can be removed.

      Tech Tips

      Make sure to remember the number of aiming screw rotations.

    8. A01VUJS

      Using a clip remover, disengage the clamp to remove the pivot collar.

  11. REMOVE HEADLIGHT LEVELING MOTOR


    1. A01VVMP

      Disengage the 2 guides to remove the rail guide from headlight leveling motor.

    2. A01VWXR

      Remove the 2 screws, 2 washers and headlight leveling motor from headlight unit assembly.

  12. REMOVE HEADLIGHT FAN

      *a Guide
      *b Clamp

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides.

    3. Disengage the clamp and disconnect the connector to remove the headlight fan.
