DESCRIPTION

The headlight ECU sub-assemblies control the cornering lights.

Note


  • Check the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • If the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH has been replaced, it is necessary to synchronize the vehicle information and initialize the headlight ECU sub-assembly LH.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS


    1. for Single Beam Headlight:


      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      3. Turn the GTS on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / HL AutoLeveling / Active Test.

      5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


        Body Electrical > HL AutoLeveling > Active Test

        Cornering lights illuminate.
    2. for Triple Beam Headlight:


      1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

      2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

      3. Turn the GTS on.

      4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / AFS / Active Test.

      5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CORNERING LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH - POWER SOURCE OR BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the A19 cornering light assembly LH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A19-1 (B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A19-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY LH - CORNERING LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH)


    1. Disconnect the A49 headlight ECU sub-assembly LH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A49-9 (CRSL) - A19-2 (CRPL) Always Below 1 Ω
      A49-9 (CRSL) or A19-2 (CRPL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  4. INSPECT CORNERING LIGHT ASSEMBLY LH


    1. Remove the cornering light assembly LH.

    2. Inspect the cornering light assembly LH.

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CORNERING LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH - POWER SOURCE OR BODY GROUND)


    1. Disconnect the A23 cornering light assembly RH connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A23-1 (B) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG) 11 to 14 V
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A23-3 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ECU SUB-ASSEMBLY RH - CORNERING LIGHT ASSEMBLY RH)


    1. Disconnect the A50 headlight ECU sub-assembly RH connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A50-9 (CRSR) - A23-2 (CRPR) Always Below 1 Ω
      A50-9 (CRSR) or A23-2 (CRPR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
