WIPER SWITCH ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER SWITCH ASSEMBLY


    1. Check the front washer operation (for Wiper Switch RH Side Type).

        Component with harness connected

        (Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)

        Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal J31-5 (WR) and a negative (-) lead to terminal J33-7 (WF).

      2. Turn the engine switch to ON.

      3. Turn the washer switch on and off, and check the voltage between terminals J31-5 (WR) and J33-7 (WF).

        OK
        Voltage changes as shown in the following illustration.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.

    2. Check the rear washer operation (for Wiper Switch RH Side Type).

        Component with harness connected

        (Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)

        Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal J33-7 (WF) and a negative (-) lead to terminal J31-5 (WR).

      2. Turn the engine switch to ON.

      3. Turn the washer switch on and off, and check the voltage between terminals J33-7 (WF) and J31-5 (WR).

        OK
        Voltage changes as shown in the following illustration.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.

    3. Check the front washer operation (for Wiper Switch LH Side Type).

        Component with harness connected

        (Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)

        Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal J31-10 (WR) and a negative (-) lead to terminal J33-4 (WF).

      2. Turn the engine switch to ON.

      3. Turn the washer switch on and off, and check the voltage between terminals J31-10 (WR) and J33-4 (WF).

        OK
        Voltage changes as shown in the following illustration.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.

    4. Check the rear washer operation (for Wiper Switch LH Side Type).


      1. A01RALYC24

        Component with harness connected

        (Windshield Wiper Switch Assembly)

        Connect a voltmeter positive (+) lead to terminal J33-4 (WF) and a negative (-) lead to terminal J31-10 (WR).

      2. Turn the engine switch to ON.

      3. Turn the washer switch on and off, and check the voltage between terminals J33-4 (WF) and J31-10 (WR).

        OK
        Voltage changes as shown in the following illustration.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the windshield wiper switch assembly.
