FRONT WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY INSPECTION
Door Open Linked Wiper Suspend Function (w/ Auto Wiper System)
Continuously apply water to the windshield glass in front of the rain sensor.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Move the windshield wiper switch assembly to the AUTO position and check that the front wipers begin to operate.
Open the driver door or front passenger door and check that the front wipers stop.
Service Position Control
Turn the engine switch off.
Within 42 seconds of turning the engine switch off, hold the windshield wiper switch assembly in the MIST position for 2 seconds and check that the front wipers move to the uppermost position.
AUTO Wiper Function (w/ Auto Wiper System)
Continuously apply water to the windshield glass in front of the rain sensor
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Move the windshield wiper switch assembly to the AUTO position.
Check that the front wipers operate.
Vehicle Speed Linked Wiper Control
Tech Tips
When the AUTO wiper function is disabled through a customize setting, the vehicle speed linked wiper control can be operated.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Move the windshield wiper switch assembly to the AUTO position.
Check that the front wipers operate intermittently.
WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY INSPECTION
Front washer operation inspection
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Operate the front washer switch for approximately 0.5 seconds or more and check that the front washers spray washer fluid on the windshield glass and the front wipers operate in the LO.
Release the front washer switch and check that the front wipers continue to operate for 3 cycles.
Rear washer operation inspection
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
While the windshield wiper switch assembly (rear wiper control switch) to is set to OFF, operate the rear washer switch for approximately 0.5 seconds or more and check that the rear washer sprays washer fluid on the back door glass and the rear wiper operates.
Release the rear washer switch and check that the rear wiper continues to operate for approximately 2.5 seconds.
Drip prevention wiper function
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
With the vehicle stationary or while driving at a speed of less than approximately 4 km/h (2 mph), operate the front washer switch and, check that the front wipers operate for 1 cycle approximately 3 seconds after washer cooperation operation ends.
REAR WIPER MOTOR AND BRACKET ASSEMBLY INSPECTION
Intermittent Wiper Operation Control
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the rear wiper switch assembly to the INT position.
Check that the rear wiper operates once approximately every 12 seconds.
HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY INSPECTION
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Set the headlight dimmer switch assembly to the HEAD position.
Operate the front washer switch 5 times and check that washer fluid sprays from the headlight washer actuator sub-assemblies for approximately 1 second the fifth time the front washer switch is operated.
