POWER BACK DOOR DRIVE UNIT INSTALLATION

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

PROCEDURE

1. INSTALL BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY LOWER BRACKET

   
   

   1. Clean the bolt holes in the vehicle body.

   2. 

      Install the back door damper stay lower bracket with the 2 bolts.

      Torque:

      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

2. INSTALL BACK DOOR DAMPER STAY UPPER BRACKET

   
   

   1. Clean the bolt holes in the vehicle body.

   2. 

      Install the back door damper stay upper bracket with 2 new bolts.

      Torque:

      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }

3. INSTALL POWER BACK DOOR UNIT SET ASSEMBLY

   Note

   Do not apply any horizontal load to the power back door unit set assembly in order to prevent it from deforming.

   
   

   1. 

      Engage the 2 ball joints to install a new power back door unit set assembly.

      Note

      Install the power back door unit set assembly while supporting the back door by hand.

   2. Check that the power back door unit set assembly is engaged to the ball joints and that it cannot be pulled out.

   3. Engage the grommet.

   4. Connect the connector.
