1. INITIALIZATION (INITIAL POSITION CLEAR)
Note
It is necessary to perform initialization (initial position clear) if any of the following conditions are met.
The fold seat control ECU has been replaced with a used one.
The No. 2 seat cushion frame sub-assembly RH, No. 2 seat cushion frame sub-assembly LH, No. 2 seatback frame sub-assembly RH or No. 2 seatback frame sub-assembly LH has been removed and installed or replaced.
Initialization (Initial Position Clear) Conditions
All of the following conditions are met:
An initial position has been memorized.
No rear No. 2 power seat fold or return switches are being operated.
The back door is open.
The vehicle is stopped.
When any of the following conditions are met, the vehicle will be judged as stopped:
(1) The engine switch is off.
(2) The vehicle speed is below 5 km/h (3.1 mph) and the shift lever is in P.
(3) The vehicle speed is below 5 km/h (3.1 mph) and the brake pedal is depressed.
(4) The vehicle speed is below 5 km/h (3.1 mph) and the parking brake is applied.
Perform Initialization (Initial Position Clear)
Note
If any of the following conditions are met while initialization (initial position clear) is being performed, initialization will be canceled and it will be necessary to perform the procedure again.
The fold switch of the fold seat switch assembly is not pushed 5 times within 10 seconds after the return switch of the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly is first pushed.
Any switch of the fold seat switch assembly other than the fold seat switch is pushed within 10 seconds after the return switch of the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly is first pushed.
The return switch of the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly is released within 10 seconds after it is first pushed.
The back door is closed within 10 seconds after the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly is first pushed.
The vehicle is judged as being driven.
When the engine switch is on (IG) and any of the following conditions are met, the vehicle will be judged as being driven:
(1) The vehicle speed is 5 km/h (3.1 mph) or more.
(2) The shift lever is in any position other than P, the brake pedal is not depressed and the parking brake is released.
Push and hold the return switch of the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly and, within 10 seconds, operate the fold switch of the fold seat switch assembly 5 times.
Continue holding the return switch of the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly until 10 seconds have elapsed and a buzzer sounds 3 times, indicating that the initial position has been cleared. A buzzer will then sound continuously.
After the buzzer begins to sound, release the return switch of the No. 1 fold seat switch assembly.
Tech Tips
If the switch is pushed again, the buzzer will stop.
INITIALIZATION (INITIAL POSITION MEMORIZATION)
Note
It is necessary to perform initialization (initial position memorization) if any of the following conditions are met:
A fold seat control ECU has been replaced with a new one.
Initialization (initial position clear) has been performed.
Initialization (Initial Position Memorization) Conditions
All of the following conditions are met:
The initial position has not been memorized.
No rear No. 2 power seat fold or return switches are being operated.
Perform Initialization (Initial Position Memorization)
Note
If any of the following conditions are met while initialization (initial position memorization) is being performed, the initial position will not be memorized and it will be necessary to perform the procedure again.
Before the buzzer sounds twice, the fold switch of the fold seat switch assembly is released.
Any rear No. 2 power seat switch other than the fold switch of the fold seat switch assembly is operated.
Press and hold the fold switch of the fold seat switch assembly until the seatback and seat cushion stop operating.
Check that a buzzer sounds twice after the seatback and cushion stop operating, indicating that the initial position has been memorized.
