REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM(for Second Row) INITIALIZATION


  1. INITIALIZATION (INITIAL POSITION MEMORIZATION)

    Note

    It is necessary to perform Initialization (Initial Position Memorization) in the following situations.


    • The fold seat control ECU has been replaced with a new one.

    • Initialization Cancel (Initial Position Reset) has been performed.

    • The cable was disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal when a rear power seat was being operated.

    Tech Tips


    • The rear power seat switch is a collective term for the rear power seat switch RH and the rear power seat switch LH.

    • Initialization can only be performed using the rear power seat switch of the rear power seat to be initialized. If the fold seat switch assembly is operated before initialization has been completed, a buzzer will sound continuously.

    • If initialization has not been completed, the rear power seat can only be reclined using the rear power seat switch.


    1. Press and hold the fold switch of the rear power seat switch to operate the fold function.

      Tech Tips

      Since an automatic operation cannot be performed, press and hold the switch.

    2. Perform the fold operation until the rear the seatback reaches the fold end position.

    3. When initialization is complete, a buzzer will sound twice.

  2. INITIALIZATION CANCEL (INITIAL POSITION RESET)

    Note

    It is necessary to perform Initialization Cancel (Initial Position Reset) in the following situations.


    • The fold seat control ECU has been replaced with a used one.

    • The rear seatback has been moved with the fold seat control ECU removed.

    • The position of the rear seatback is abnormal due to the seat being disassembled or parts of the seat being replaced.

    Tech Tips

    The rear power seat switch is a collective term for the rear power seat switch RH and the rear power seat switch LH.


    1. Necessary conditions to perform initialization cancel:


      • Initialization has been completed.

      • The rear power seat switch and fold seat switch assembly are not being operated.

      • The vehicle is stopped.

        Engine Switch State Condition
        Engine switch on (IG) Shift lever in P, stop light switch assembly on or parking brake applied
        Vehicle speed below 5 km/h (3.1 mph)
        Engine switch off -

      • The back door is open.

    2. Initialization cancel procedure:


      1. Press and hold the return switch of the fold seat switch assembly.

      2. Within 10 seconds of operating the return switch of the fold seat switch assembly, operate the fold switch of the rear power seat switch 5 times.

        Tech Tips

        Perform this operation while holding the return switch of the fold seat switch assembly.

      3. When initialization cancel is complete, a buzzer will sound 3 times.
