  1. REAR POWER SEAT CONTROL SYSTEM DESCRIPTION


    • The rear power seats have the following functions: reclining, fold and return, and jam protection.

    • Both the left and right rear seat is equipped with this system. Each rear seat operates independently.

  2. FUNCTION OF MAIN COMPONENTS

    Component Function
    Rear Seatback Frame Sub-assembly (Reclining Motor, Fold Motor) Uses power supplied from the fold seat control ECU to operate the reclining motor and fold motor to recline, fold and return the rear seatback. Uses a Hall IC built into the fold motor to detect the position of the rear seatback.
    Rear Power Seat Switch
    • Outputs seatback angle adjustment signals to the fold seat control ECU to adjust the seatback reclining angle.

    • Outputs rear seat fold and return operation signals to the fold seat control ECU to operate the a fold or return function of the rear power seat.

    Fold Seat Switch assembly Outputs rear seat fold and return operation signals to the fold seat control ECU to operate the fold or return function of the rear power seat.
    Fold Seat Control ECU Receives signals from each seat switch and operates the reclining motor and fold motor to recline, fold and return the rear power seat. Sounds a buzzer if conditions for the requested operation are not met or a jam is detected.
