DESCRIPTION
The airbag sensor assembly consists of the acceleration sensor, safing sensor, drive circuit, diagnosis circuit, ignition control, etc.
If the airbag sensor assembly receives signals from the acceleration sensor and pressure sensor, it determines whether the airbags, pretensioners and selectable force limiter* should be deployed.
DTC B1000/31 is stored when a malfunction is detected in the airbag sensor assembly.

CHECK DTC
Check for DTCs.
Note
If only DTC B1000/31 is output, do not clear the DTC, replace the airbag sensor assembly.
Tech Tips
If any DTCs other than DTC B1000/31 are also output, troubleshoot those DTCs first.
