HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR AND LINK ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LHD)

    Click here

  3. REMOVE OUTER COWL TOP PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

    Click here

  4. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (for LHD)

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the clamp and remove the hood lock control cable cover.

  5. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE COVER (for RHD)


    1. B005OEX

      Remove the screw.

    2. Disengage the clamp and remove the hood lock control cable cover.

  6. REMOVE HOOD LOCK RELEASE LEVER PROTECTOR


    1. B005NZB

      Remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the clamp to remove the hood lock release lever protector.

  7. REMOVE HOOD LOCK ASSEMBLY


    1. for LHD:


      1. B005P6A

        Disconnect the connector.

      2. Remove the 3 bolts.

    2. for RHD:


      1. B005OXD

        Disconnect the connector.

      2. Remove the 3 bolts.

    3. B005QAE

      Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly to remove the hood lock assembly.

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  9. DISCONNECT HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

    Click here

  10. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly to remove the hood lock control lever sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for LHD)


    1. B005M77C01
      *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
      *a Clamp

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the clamp as shown in the illustration.

    2. B005L6Z

      Tie a string to the hood lock control lever sub-assembly side end of the hood lock control cable assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

    3. Pull the hood lock control cable assembly through the grommet.

      Tech Tips

      Leave the string inside the grommet.

    4. Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.

    5. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 clamps as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    6. Pull the hood lock control cable assembly from the engine compartment to remove it.

  12. REMOVE HOOD LOCK CONTROL CABLE ASSEMBLY (for RHD)

      *1 Hood Lock Control Cable Assembly
      *a Clamp

      Using a screwdriver, disengage the clamp as shown in the illustration.

      Tie a string to the hood lock control lever sub-assembly side end of the hood lock control cable assembly.

      Tech Tips

      Use a length of string long enough to pass through the engine compartment.

    3. Pull the hood lock control cable assembly through the grommet.

      Tech Tips

      Leave the string inside the grommet.

    4. Disconnect the string from the hood lock control cable assembly.

    5. Using a screwdriver, disengage the 3 clamps as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips

      Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

    6. Pull the hood lock control cable assembly from the engine compartment to remove it.
