REMOVE TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard, Type A)
Note
Take extra care when handling these precision electronic components.

Remove in this Direction |
Push the release hook knob and remove the mechanical key as shown in the illustration.

Insert a screwdriver into the gap, and turn the screwdriver to remove the transmitter housing cover.
Tech Tips
Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

Remove in this Direction |
Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap and gently remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032) as shown in the illustration.
Note
Do not push the terminals with your finger.
Do not forcibly pry up the transmitter battery as the terminals may be damaged.
Do not touch the transmitter battery with wet hands. Moisture may cause rust.
Do not touch or move any components inside the transmitter housing case. It may interfere with proper operation.
When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly from being damaged.

Disengage the 2 claws to remove the transmitter battery housing cover as shown in the illustration.

Insert a precision screwdriver into the gap and gently remove the transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032) as shown in the illustration.
Note

Remove in this Direction |
Lightly hold and remove the transmitter battery housing cover as shown in the illustration.
Note
Do not insert a screwdriver, etc. between the transmitter housing case and transmitter battery housing cover or forcibly bend the transmitter battery housing cover as this may deform the transmitter battery housing cover.
Tech Tips
If the transmitter battery housing cover is held too firmly, it will become harder to remove.
If the transmitter battery housing cover is slippery and it is difficult to remove, use non-slip gloves to remove the transmitter battery housing cover.

Remove the transmitter (card key) battery (lithium battery: CR2412) as shown in the illustration.
INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard, Type A)

Install in this Direction |
Install a new transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.
Note
Do not bend the transmitter battery electrode during installation.
Keep the inside of the transmitter housing cover free of dust and oil.
When replacing the transmitter battery, before starting work, remove static electricity that has built up in the body by touching, for example, the vehicle to prevent the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly from being damaged.

Install the transmitter housing cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.

Install in this Direction |
Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter as shown in the illustration.
Press one of the transmitter switches and check that the LED illuminates.

INSTALL TRANSMITTER BATTERY (for Standard, Type B)

Install in this Direction |
Install a new transmitter battery (lithium battery: CR2032) with the positive (+) side facing upward, as shown in the illustration.
Note
Do not bend the transmitter battery electrode during installation.
Keep the inside of the transmitter housing cover free of dust and oil.

Engage the 2 claws to install the transmitter battery housing cover as shown in the illustration.

Install the transmitter housing cover by pressing down on it as shown in the illustration.

Insert the mechanical key into the transmitter as shown in the illustration.
Press one of the transmitter switches and check that the LED illuminates.

INSTALL TRANSMITTER (CARD KEY) BATTERY (for Card Type)

Install in this Direction |
Insert the transmitter (card key) battery (lithium battery: CR2412) between the 2 terminals deep in the transmitter housing case as shown in the illustration.
Note
Insert the transmitter (card key) battery so that its positive (+) side is facing the LEXUS mark.
Do not deform the terminals.
If the terminals are dirty, wipe the terminals with a soft cloth before installing the transmitter (card key) battery.
Tech Tips
Check if the terminals are damaged or if foreign matter has entered the transmitter housing case.

Install the transmitter battery housing cover as shown in the illustration.
Note
Push the transmitter battery housing cover until its hooks are engaged securely.
If the transmitter battery housing cover has been removed and installed many times, be careful as the transmitter battery housing cover may become loose.
