ULTRASONIC SENSOR(for Front) INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR RETAINER

    Tech Tips


    • Perform this procedure only when replacement of the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer is necessary.

    • If a No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer has been removed, replace it with a new one. Install the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor with a new No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer as a set to the front bumper assembly.

    • Use the same procedure for all No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainers.

      Engage the 2 claws to install a new No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer to the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor.

    2. Clean the surface of the front bumper cover.


      1. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the front bumper cover.

      2. Wipe off any adhesive residue with cleaner.

      *a 19 mm (0.748 in.)

      Cover the sensor installation hole with a 19 mm (0.748 in.) circular piece of tape.

      B005OAS Primer

      Using a brush or felt, apply primer or equivalent to the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer installation area.

      Note


      • Use a clean brush or felt.

      • Do not touch the front bumper assembly until the primer has dried.

    5. Peel off the release paper from the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer.

      Align the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer with the mark on the front bumper cover and install it as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      The double-sided tape of a No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer will deteriorate if it is detached. Make sure to use a new No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer when reattachment is necessary.

      Tech Tips


      • Align the connector with the protrusion of the mark when connecting it.

      • Press the area shown in the illustration with a force of 30 N (3.0 kgf) for 3 seconds to securely install the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer to the front bumper cover. Confirm there is no clearance between the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor retainer and front bumper cover.

  2. INSTALL NO. 2 ULTRASONIC SENSOR

      Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 2 ultrasonic sensor as shown in the illustration.

      Tech Tips


      • Align the connector with the protrusion of the mark when connecting it.

      • The illustration is for the LH side. The orientation for the RH side is the opposite of the LH side.

    2. Connect the connector.

  3. INSTALL NO. 1 ULTRASONIC SENSOR


    1. for Bar Type Radiator Grille:

        Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        The illustration is for the LH side. The orientation for the RH side is the opposite of the LH side.

    2. Mesh Type Radiator Grille:

        Engage the 2 claws to install the No. 1 ultrasonic sensor as shown in the illustration.

        Tech Tips

        The illustration is for the LH side. The orientation for the RH side is the opposite of the LH side.

    3. Connect the connector.
