DESCRIPTION

The 4WD ECU assembly determines that the vehicle is turning based on the signals sent from the steering sensor.

The steering sensor signal is sent to the 4WD ECU assembly via CAN communication.

When the 4WD ECU assembly is replaced with a known good one from another vehicle, it is necessary to perform calibration.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Click here


      Chassis > Four Wheel Drive > Clear DTCs
    2. Turn the engine switch off.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and check that no CAN communication system DTCs are output.

      Click here

    4. Start the engine.

    5. Drive the vehicle at a speed of 35 km/h (24 mph), turn the steering wheel to the right and left and check that no Vehicle Stability Control system (steering angle sensor) DTCs (C1432, C1433 or C1434) are output.

      If CAN communication DTCs are output, perform troubleshooting for the CAN communication system first.

  2. READ VALUE USING GTS (STEERING ANGLE VALUE)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Four Wheel Drive / Data List.

    5. Read the value displayed on the GTS.
