DESCRIPTION
The No. 3 ATF pressure switch is installed in the lock-up solenoid ATF output passage and is used to detect malfunctions of the lock-up solenoid.

MONITOR DESCRIPTION
The ECM illuminates the MIL and stores a DTC if it detects that the No. 3 ATF pressure switch is OFF with the lock-up solenoid ON or if it detects that the No. 3 ATF pressure switch is ON with the lock-up solenoid OFF.

Note
Perform registration and/or initialization when parts related to the automatic transaxle are replaced.
Tech Tips
After performing repair, clear the DTCs and perform the following procedure to check that DTCs are not output.
Perform the Lock-up Function inspection in Road Test.
Turn the engine switch off.
Perform step (1) again.
Check for DTCs again.
PROCEDURE
CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P098714)
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Trouble Codes.
Read the DTCs using the GTS.

Disconnect the D57 wiring harness connector connector.
Disconnect the D1 ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Disconnect the ATF temperature sensor assembly connector.
Remove the wiring harness connector.

CHECK IF DTC OUTPUT RECURS
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Start the engine and turn the GTS on.
Clear the DTCs.
Tech Tips
Write down the currently output DTCs before clearing them.
Perform the monitor drive pattern.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Transmission / Trouble Codes.
Read the DTCs using the GTS.
