CAUTION:
To prevent injury due to contact with an operating V-ribbed belt or cooling fan, keep your hands and clothing away from the V-ribbed belt and cooling fans when working in the engine compartment with the engine running or the engine switch on (IG).
PROCEDURE
INSPECT INTAKE AIR CONTROL VALVE (AIR BY-PASS VALVE ASSEMBLY)
CAUTION:
To prevent injury due to contact with an operating V-ribbed belt or cooling fan, keep your hands and clothing away from the V-ribbed belt and cooling fans when working in the engine compartment with the engine running or the engine switch on (IG).
Disconnect the intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly) connector.

Apply battery voltage between the terminals, and check that the intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly) makes an operating sound.

Note
Do not operate the intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly) for more than 10 seconds.
Make sure to switch the voltage on and off at the battery side.
If the intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly) does not make an operating sound, replace the intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly).
Connect the intake air control valve (air by-pass valve assembly) connector.
