NAME PLATE INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL SYMBOL EMBLEM

    Tech Tips

    When installing the symbol emblem, heat the vehicle body and symbol emblem using an infrared light.

    Heating Temperature
    Item Temperature
    Vehicle Body

    40 to 60°C (104 to 140°F)

    3 to 5 minutes

    Symbol Emblem

    20 to 30°C (68 to 86°F)

    1 to 2 minutes

    Note

    Do not heat the vehicle body and symbol emblem excessively.


    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using a piece of cloth, rub the double-sided tape off the vehicle body.

        Note


        • Installing the symbol emblem while old double-sided tape remains can cause adhesion failure.

        • Using a screwdriver or similar tool to remove the old tape can damage the surface and cause adhesion failure.

      2. Using a non-residue solvent, clean the attachment surface.

    2. Using an infrared light, heat the vehicle body and a new symbol emblem.

    3. Remove the release paper from the symbol emblem.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      Engage the 2 location pins to install the symbol emblem as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Press the symbol emblem firmly to install it.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR NAME PLATE

    Tech Tips

    When installing the No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate, heat the vehicle body and No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate using an infrared light.

    • Do not touch the infrared light or the heated portions of the components.

    • Touching the infrared light could result in burns.

    • Touching the heated portions of the components and remaining in contact for a long time could result in burns.

    Note

    Do not heat the vehicle body and No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate excessively.


    1. Clean the vehicle body surface.


      1. Using an infrared light, heat the vehicle body surface.

      2. Remove any remaining double-sided tape from the vehicle body.

    2. Using an infrared light, heat the vehicle body and a new No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate.

    3. Remove the release paper from the No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    4. Install the No. 1 luggage compartment door name plate as shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL NO. 3 LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR PLATE

    Tech Tips

    When installing the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate, heat the vehicle body and No. 3 luggage compartment door plate using an infrared light.

    3. Remove the release paper from the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate.

      After removing the release paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

    4. Install the No. 3 luggage compartment door plate as shown in the illustration.

  4. INSTALL NO. 2 FRONT FENDER NAME PLATE

    When installing the No. 2 front fender name plate, heat the vehicle body and No. 2 front fender name plate using an infrared light.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 FRONT FENDER NAME PLATE

    When installing the No. 1 front fender name plate, heat the vehicle body and No. 1 front fender name plate using an infrared light.
