FRONT BUMPER REASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER


    1. B002DH5

      Engage the claws to install the radiator support opening cover.

    2. Install the 4 clips.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

  3. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER LH

      Engage the claws to install the front bumper side retainer LH as shown in the illustration.

    2. B002EMI

      Install the bolt.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }

  4. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER SIDE RETAINER RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  5. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WASHER BRACKET ASSEMBLY

      Engage the guide to install the windshield washer bracket assembly.

    2. Install the bolt.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

  6. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER MOUNTING REINFORCE SUB-ASSEMBLY LH


    1. B002EM0

      Engage the guides to install the front bumper mounting reinforcement sub-assembly LH.

    2. Install the 4 bolts.

      Torque
      68 N*m (694 kgf*cm, 50 ft.*lbf)

  7. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER MOUNTING REINFORCE SUB-ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  8. INSTALL WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY

      Engage the guide to install the windshield washer jar assembly.

    2. Temporarily install the windshield washer jar assembly with the 3 bolts.

    3. Fully tighten the bolt.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }
    4. B002CYEN01

      Fully tighten the 2 bolts in the order shown in the illustration.

      Torque:
      5.5 N*m  { 56 kgf*cm, 49 in.*lbf }

  9. INSTALL INLET ENGINE OIL COOLER AIR DUCT

  10. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER LH


    1. B002EUH

      Set the front fender liner LH.

    2. Install the 4 clips.

    3. Install the 2 bolts.

      Torque:
      4.9 N*m  { 50 kgf*cm, 43 in.*lbf }

    4. Install the 5 screws.

  11. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE SIDE AIR GUIDE LH

      Engage the claw to install the radiator grille side air guide LH as shown in the illustration.

    2. Install the 4 clips.

  12. INSTALL RADIATOR GRILLE SIDE AIR GUIDE RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  13. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER REINFORCEMENT

      Engage the guides to install the front bumper reinforcement.

    2. Install the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      29 N*m  { 296 kgf*cm, 21 ft.*lbf }

    3. Engage the clamp to install the thermistor assembly.

  14. INSTALL FRONT ENERGY ABSORBER MOUNTING REINFORCEMENT LH


    1. B002CUL

      Engage the guides and claws to install the front energy absorber mounting reinforcement LH.

  15. INSTALL FRONT ENERGY ABSORBER MOUNTING REINFORCEMENT RH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

  16. INSTALL FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

      Engage the guides to install the front bumper energy absorber.

  17. INSTALL NO. 1 MOULDING TAPE

    Tech Tips


    • Use the same procedure as for the LH side.

    • When installing the No. 1 moulding tape, heat the front bumper cover and No. 1 moulding tape using an infrared light.

    Heating Temperature

    Note

    Do not heat the front bumper cover and No. 1 moulding tape excessively.


    1. Clean the front bumper cover surface.


      1. Using a piece of cloth, rub the double-sided tape off the front bumper cover.

        Note


        • Installing the No. 1 moulding tape while old double-sided tape remains can cause adhesion failure.

        • Using a screwdriver or similar tool to remove the old tape can damage the surface and cause adhesion failure.

      2. Using a non-residue solvent, clean the attachment surface.

    2. Using an infrared light, heat the front bumper cover and No. 1 moulding tape.

    3. Remove the peeling paper from a new No. 1 moulding tape.

      Tech Tips

      After removing the peeling paper, keep the exposed adhesive free from foreign matter.

      *a Mark-off Line

      Align the No. 1 moulding tape with the mark-off line of the front bumper cover.

      Note

      Press the No. 1 moulding tape firmly to install it.

  18. INSTALL FRONT FENDER LINER RETAINER

      Engage the claw to install the front fender liner retainer.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  19. INSTALL NO. 2 RADIATOR GRILLE GARNISH

      Engage the claws to install the No. 2 radiator grille garnish.

  20. INSTALL NO. 1 RADIATOR GRILLE GARNISH

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the No. 2 radiator grille garnish.

  21. INSTALL NO. 4 ENGINE ROOM WIRE (w/ LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)

      Engage the clamps to install the No. 4 engine room wire.

      Tech Tips

      Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.

  22. INSTALL WIRING HARNESS CONNECTOR (w/o LEXUS Parking Assist-sensor System)
