OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR GLASS INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR LH


    1. A01QCZBC04
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror LH)

      w/ Outer Mirror Heater:


      1. Check the outer mirror heater.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 25°C (77°F) 3.5 to 4.9 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror LH.

    2. A01QD0NC01
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror LH)

      *b EC Mirror Connector

      w/ Blind Spot Monitor:

      Note

      Do not apply a voltage of 6 V or higher.


      1. Check the blind spot monitor indicator.

      2. Connect 4 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.

      3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 and check that the blind spot monitor indicator comes on.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1

        Blind spot monitor indicator comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror LH.

    3. Check the EC mirror operation.

      Note

      Do not apply a voltage of 1.5 V or higher.


      1. Connect 1.5 V dry-cell battery.

      2. A01QAS5C01
        *a Component without harness connected (Outer Mirror LH)

        Apply 1.5 V battery voltage and check the EC mirror operation.

        OK
        Measurement Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

        Mirror surface becomes dark

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror LH.

  2. INSPECT OUTER MIRROR RH


    1. A01Q8PLC04
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror RH)

      w/ Outer Mirror Heater:


      1. Check the outer mirror heater.

      2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        1 - 2 25°C (77°F) 3.5 to 4.9 Ω

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror RH.

    2. A01QD5ZC01
      *a

      Component without harness connected

      (Outer Mirror RH)

      *b EC mirror connector

      w/ Blind Spot Monitor:

      Note

      Do not apply a voltage of 6 V or higher.


      1. Check the blind spot monitor indicator.

      2. Connect 4 dry-cell batteries (1.5 V each) in series.

      3. Connect a positive (+) lead from the batteries to terminal 2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal 1 and check that the blind spot monitor indicator comes on.

        OK
        Tester Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 2

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 1

        Blind spot monitor indicator comes on

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror RH.

    3. Check the EC mirror operation.

      Note

      Do not apply a voltage of 1.5 V or higher.


      1. Connect 1.5 V dry-cell battery.

      2. A01QBY3C01
        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Outer Mirror RH)

        Apply 1.5 V battery voltage and check the EC mirror operation.

        OK
        Measurement Connection Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 1

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 2

        Mirror surface becomes dark

        If the result is not as specified, replace the outer mirror RH.
