    Tech Tips

    Using the GTS to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.

    Note

    In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Back Door > Data List

      Half Latch SW Luggage door closer assembly (half switch signal) OFF or ON

      OFF: Half switch of luggage door closer assembly off

      ON: Half switch of luggage door closer assembly on

      Pawl Position Switch Luggage door closer assembly (pawl switch signal) OFF or ON

      OFF: Pawl switch of luggage door closer assembly off

      Closer Sensor Battery Voltage Luggage door closer assembly sensor voltage display*1 0 to 25.5 V 6.4 V or Higher -
      IG SW Engine switch signal OFF or ON

      OFF: Engine switch off

      ON: Engine switch on (IG)

      		 "OFF" is also displayed for this item when the engine switch is on (ACC).
      PBD Power Operation Turns power trunk opener and closer function*2 OFF, ON (Close Only) or ON Current customize setting displayed -

  2. ACTIVE TEST

    Tech Tips

    Using the GTS to perform Active Tests allows relays, VSVs, actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.


      Body Electrical > Back Door > Active Test
