POWER TRUNK LID SYSTEM Power Trunk Lid does not Operate

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) continuously monitors the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly. When the luggage door opening cancel switch assembly is OFF, a luggage compartment door opening switch signal is sent to the luggage closer motor assembly from the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication. This actuates the power trunk opener operation, which opens the luggage compartment door. When the door control switch is on, the luggage closer motor assembly actuates the power trunk closer operation. When the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is held or all doors are unlocked and the electrical key transmitter sub-assembly is not held, and the luggage electrical key switch is on or the luggage door open switch on electrical key transmitter sub-assembly switch is pressed, the luggage closer motor assembly actuates the power trunk lid opener operation.

Note

  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) or certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

Tech Tips

Since the power door lock control system has functions that use LIN communication system and CAN communication system, first confirm that there is no malfunction in the communication system by inspecting the LIN communication and CAN communication functions in accordance with the "How to Proceed with Troubleshooting" procedures. Then, conduct the following inspection procedure.
