    Note

    In the table below, the values listed under "Normal Condition" are reference values. Do not depend solely on these reference values when deciding whether a part is faulty or not.

    Tech Tips

    Using the GTS to read the Data List allows the values or states of switches, sensors, actuators and other items to be read without removing any parts. This non-intrusive inspection can be very useful because intermittent conditions or signals may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Reading the Data List information early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / (desired system) / Data List.

    5. Read the Data List according to the display on the GTS.

      		 When this item is abnormal, there is a problem with the half-latch switch of the luggage door closer assembly or related parts.*
      Pawl Position Switch Luggage door closer assembly pawl switch signal ON or OFF

      ON: Pawl switch of luggage door closer assembly on

      OFF: Pawl switch of luggage door closer assembly off (Luggage compartment door closed)

      		 When this item is abnormal, there is a problem with the pawl switch of the luggage door closer assembly or related parts.*
      PBD Close SW Door control switch signal ON or OFF

      ON: Door control switch is on

      OFF: Door control switch is off

      		 When this item is abnormal, there is a problem with the door control switch or related parts.
      IG SW Engine switch signal ON or OFF

      ON: Engine switch on (IG)

      OFF: Engine switch off

      		 "OFF" is also displayed for this item when the engine switch is on (ACC).

  2. ACTIVE TEST

    Tech Tips

    Using the GTS to perform the Active Tests allows relays, VSVs and actuators and other items to be operated without removing any parts. This non-intrusive functional inspection can be very useful because intermittent operation may be discovered before parts or wiring is disturbed. Performing Active Tests early in troubleshooting is one way to save diagnostic time. Data List information can be displayed while performing Active Tests.


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Back Door / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.
