PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT REAR SEAT 3 POINT TYPE OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:


    • A01QCH4

      The rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly contains an internal pretensioner, so when performing component inspection, make sure not to accidentally connect the battery to the pretensioner connector terminal.

    • If the battery is connected to the pretensioner connector terminal, the pretensioner will activate, which could result in serious injury.


    1. Check the seat belt tension reducer operation.

        *b Seat Belt Tension Reducer System of Connector
        *c Pretensioner of Connector

        Connect a positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1 of the seat belt tension reducer connector and a negative (-) lead to terminal 2.

      2. Check that an operating sound is heard when the magnetized solenoid is attracting the plunger.

      3. Pull out the seat belt again, disconnect the negative (-) lead of the battery and allow the seat belt to retract. Listen to the operating sound again and check that the operating sound volume has increased.

        If the result is not as specified, replace the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly.
