AIR CONDITIONING UNIT DISASSEMBLY

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    Make sure to perform initialization after replacing the air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly. If initialization is not performed, the air conditioning unit assembly will not perform properly as the air conditioning amplifier assembly will not be able to recognize the position of the air conditioning radiator damper sub-assembly.

  2. REMOVE BLOWER ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE ASPIRATOR PIPE

      Disengage the claws to remove the aspirator pipe.

  4. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING HARNESS ASSEMBLY


    1. except 3 zone type:


      1. Disconnect 9 connectors.

    2. Disengage the clamp to remove the air conditioning harness assembly.

    3. for 3 Zone Type:


      1. Disconnect 11 connectors.

      2. Disengage the clamp to remove the air conditioning harness assembly.

  5. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONER TUBE ASSEMBLY

      Remove the No. 2 cooling unit packing.

      Remove the butyl tape.

      Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 hexagon bolts and air conditioner tube assembly.

    4. Remove the 2 O-rings from the air conditioner tube assembly.

      Note

      Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent entry of moisture and foreign matter.

  6. REMOVE COOLER EXPANSION VALVE

      Remove the cooler expansion valve.

  7. REMOVE HEATER RADIATOR UNIT SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Disengage the claws to remove the clamp as shown in the illustration.

      Remove the heater radiator unit sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note

      Prepare a drain pan or cloth in case the coolant leaks.

  8. REMOVE HEATER COVER

      Disengage the claws to remove the heater cover as shown in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 1 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  10. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY (for RH Side)

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  11. REMOVE NO. 3 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 screws and No. 3 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  12. REMOVE NO. 5 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 3 Zone Type)

      Remove the 3 screws and No. 5 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  13. REMOVE NO. 7 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 7 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  14. REMOVE NO. 6 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 3 screws and No. 6 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  15. REMOVE NO. 4 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 4 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  16. REMOVE NO. 2 AIR CONDITIONING RADIATOR DAMPER SERVO SUB-ASSEMBLY (for LH Side)

      Remove the 2 screws and No. 2 air conditioning radiator damper servo sub-assembly.

  17. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER EVAPORATOR SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the 5 screws.

    2. Disengage the claws to remove the air duct.

      Remove the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly as shown in the illustration.

    4. B002ETB

      Remove the 2 O-rings from the No. 1 cooler evaporator sub-assembly.

  18. REMOVE NO. 1 COOLER THERMISTOR

  19. REMOVE HEATER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY


    1. Using a plier nipper (side cutters), cut the 10 claws and remove the heater case sub-assembly.
