The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the front seat outer belt assembly removal/installation are shown below.

  1. PRECAUTION

    CAUTION:

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:

    Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE

  5. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP

      Disengage the claws and guides to remove the seat belt anchor cover cap as shown in the illustration.

  6. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY


    1. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly so that the bolt for the anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly can be removed.

      Remove the bolt to disconnect the front seat outer belt assembly.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

      Remove the nut to disconnect the shoulder anchor of the front seat outer belt assembly.

      *1 Locking Button
      *a Protective Tape

      Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, pull out the locking button to release the lock and disconnect the pretensioner connector as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disconnect the tension reducer connector.

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    5. Disengage the guides to remove the front seat outer belt assembly.

  10. REMOVE FRONT SHOULDER BELT ANCHOR ADJUSTER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the guide to remove the front shoulder belt anchor adjuster assembly.

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT BELT RETRACTOR COVER

      Disengage the guide to remove the front seat belt retractor cover.
