The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the rear seat assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE
PRECAUTION
Note
If the rear seat airbag assembly has deployed, replace the rear seat airbag assembly, rear seatback pad and bench type rear seatback cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY

Pull in the direction indicated by the arrows (1) in the illustration and lift up the front end of the bench type rear seat cushion assembly to disengage the rear seat cushion lock hooks.
Note
To avoid deforming the cushion frame, lift the cushion by holding the area close to the rear seat cushion lock hooks.
While pushing in the direction indicated by the arrows (2) in the illustration, disengage the hooks at the rear of the rear seat cushion frame.
Pull in the direction indicated by the arrows (3) in the illustration to remove the bench type rear seat cushion assembly.
w/ Seat Heater System:
Disconnect the 2 connectors.
REMOVE REAR SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY
Remove the 2 rear seat headrest assemblies.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CENTER HEADREST ASSEMBLY
Remove the rear seat center headrest assembly.
REMOVE BENCH TYPE REAR SEATBACK ASSEMBLY
Remove the bolt to disconnect the rear outer seat 3 point type belt assembly RH.
Remove the bolt to disconnect the rear outer seat 3 point type belt assembly LH.
Disconnect the connector.
Remove the bolt to disconnect the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH.

Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the claw to open the cap of the rear seat shoulder belt guide as shown in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure to open all the caps of the rear seat shoulder belt guides.
Separate the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly from the shoulder belt guide.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedure to separate the rear seat 3 point type outer belt assembly on the other side.
Separate the rear seat inner with center belt assembly LH from the rear center seat shoulder belt guide.
Disconnect the 2 rear seat airbag connectors.
Note
When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
Push down the white housing lock and slide the yellow CPA (at this time, the connector cannot be disconnected yet).

Push down the white housing lock again and disconnect the connector.
Note
Do not push down the part (A) shown in the illustration when disconnecting.
After disconnecting the connector, check that the position of the white housing lock is correct as shown in the illustration.

Disconnect the rear seat wire RH connector.
Remove the 4 bolts.

Lift up in the direction indicated by the arrow (1) in the illustration to disengage the guides.
Pull in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration to remove the bench type rear seatback assembly.
Note
2 or more people are required when carrying the bench type rear seatback assembly out of the vehicle.
Be careful not to damage or scratch the vehicle body or body interior.
REMOVE REAR SEAT CUSHION LOCK HOOK

Disengage the claws to remove the rear seat cushion lock hook as shown in the illustration.
Tech Tips
Use the same procedures as for the opposite side.
