FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the front seat assembly removal/installation are shown below.

    Note


    • If the front seat airbag assembly has deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seatback frame sub-assembly, front seatback pad with cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

    • After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE SEAT BELT ANCHOR COVER CAP

  3. DISCONNECT FRONT SEAT OUTER BELT ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE FRONT OUTER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER


    1. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob to move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

      B002E01 Remove in this direction (2)

      Pull in the direction indicated by the arrows (1) in the illustration to disengage the claws.

    3. Pull in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration and disengage the guides to remove the front outer seat track bracket cover.

  5. REMOVE FRONT INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the front outer seat track bracket cover.

  6. REMOVE REAR OUTER FRONT SEAT TRACK COVER


    1. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob to move the front seat assembly to the frontmost position.

      Pull in the direction indicated by the arrows (1) in the illustration to disengage the claws.

    3. Pull in the direction indicated by the arrow (2) in the illustration and disengage the guides to remove the rear outer front seat track cover.

  7. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK BRACKET COVER

    Tech Tips

    Use the same procedure as for the rear outer front seat track cover.

  8. CUSTOMIZE POWER TILT AND POWER TELESCOPIC STEERING COLUMN SYSTEM


    1. Disable the auto tilt away function by changing the customize settings.

      Note

      Record the current customize setting (whether the auto tilt away function is enabled or disabled) in order to restore the current setting after finishing the operation.

      Tech Tips

      Performing the above operation causes the auto tilt away function to be disabled when the engine switch is turned off.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG). Operate the tilt and telescopic switch to fully retract and tilt up the steering column assembly.

    3. Turn the engine switch off.

  9. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the front seat assembly.

    2. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob to move the front seat assembly to the rearmost position.

      Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the front seat assembly.

    4. Operate the reclining power seat switch knob and move the seatback to the perpendicular position.

    5. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the center position.

    6. Operate the slide and vertical power seat switch knob and move the front seat assembly to the lowermost position.

    7. Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      Note

      When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

    8. Tilt the front seat assembly toward the rear.

      Note

      Be careful not to damage the front seat assembly and body interior.

    9. Disconnect the front seat airbag assembly connector.


      1. Push the slider to disengage the primary lock. Continue pushing and slide the slider to disengage the secondary lock and then disconnect the airbag connector.

    10. Disengage the clamp to disconnect the connectors.

      Remove the front seat assembly as shown in the illustration.

      Note


      • 2 or more people are required when carrying the front seat assembly out of the vehicle.

      • Protect the front seat leg.

      • Be careful not to damage the front seat assembly, body exterior or body interior.
