CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the front seat airbag assembly removal/installation are shown below.

  • There is risk of injury.

  • If the side airbag was deployed, replace the front seat airbag assembly, front seatback frame sub-assembly, front seatback pad with cover with the necessary parts in accordance with the extent of the collision damage.

  • The procedure listed below is for the driver side.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE SEATBACK COVER WITH PAD

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

      When storing the front seat airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      Disengage the claw and clamps.

    2. B002D2J

      Disengage the clamps.

    3. Remove the 2 nuts and the front seat airbag assembly.

      CAUTION:


      • The nuts must not be reused.

      • Make sure that the front seatback frame sub-assembly is not deformed. If it is, replace it with a new one.
