The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the instrument panel passenger without door airbag assembly removal/installation are shown below.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE NO. 2 SIDE DEFROSTER NOZZLE DUCT

  5. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER WITHOUT DOOR AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

      *a Deployment side

      When storing the instrument panel passenger without door airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

      Remove the 2 screws.

    2. While bending the front of the airbag door, disengage the hooks.

    3. Disengage the hooks from the rear of the airbag door to remove the instrument panel passenger without door airbag assembly.

  6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

      *a Protective Tape
      *b Connector Lock

      Disengage the clamp.

    2. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped in protective tape, release the 2 airbag connector locks.

    3. Disconnect the 2 airbag connectors to remove the No. 2 instrument panel wire from the instrument panel passenger without door airbag assembly.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.
