    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:


    • B002DW2

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

  7. DISCONNECT GLOVE COMPARTMENT DOOR STOPPER SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 screws and disconnect the 2 glove compartment door stopper sub-assemblies from the glove compartment door assembly.

  8. REMOVE NO. 2 GLOVE COMPARTMENT PLATE

      Disengage the claws and clip to remove the No. 2 glove compartment plate as shown in the illustration.

  9. REMOVE GLOVE COMPARTMENT PANEL

      Disengage the claws and clips and glove compartment panel as shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

    CAUTION:

    When storing the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.

      *a Harness Clamp
      *b Hook

      Disengage the harness clamp to disconnect the airbag harness from the glove compartment door assembly.

    2. Remove the 4 bolts.

    3. Slightly bend the wall of the glove compartment door, disengage the hooks to remove the lower No. 2 instrument panel airbag assembly.
