  • Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.

  • The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • B002DW2

        Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    3. B002EHOC01
      *a Connector Lock

      Connect the airbag connector to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

      Note

      When connecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    4. Push in the connector lock to install the airbag connector.

      *a Hook
      *b Pin

      Temporarily install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly with the hook and pin.

    6. Install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly with the 4 bolts.

      Torque:
      10 N*m  { 102 kgf*cm, 7 ft.*lbf }

      Note

      Confirm that the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly is installed securely without any excessive gaps and is not protruding outward.

    7. B002CNX

      Engage the claw and guides to connect the hood lock control lever sub-assembly to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL END LH

  7. INSTALL INSTRUMENT CENTER CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  9. PERFORM DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM CHECK
