CENTER AIRBAG SENSOR ASSEMBLY REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the airbag ECU assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE

    Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing.

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    CAUTION:


    • B002DW2

      Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

    • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

  3. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE AIRBAG ECU ASSEMBLY


    1. Check that the engine switch is off.

    2. Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

      CAUTION:


      • B002DW2

        Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

      • If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.

    3. B002E2F

      Push and pull the connector lock lever to release the connector lock as shown in the illustration.

    4. Disconnect the connector.

      Note

      When disconnecting any airbag connector, take care not to damage the airbag wire harness.

    5. Remove the 2 bolts, nut and airbag ECU assembly.
