The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the rear seat airbag assembly removal/installation are shown below.

Note

After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

REMOVE REAR SEAT ASSEMBLY

REMOVE REAR SEAT AIRBAG ASSEMBLY
CAUTION:
- *a Deployment Side
  
  When storing the rear seat side airbag assembly, keep the airbag deployment side facing upward.
- If the airbag deploys for any reason, it may cause a serious accident.
1. Remove the 6 hog rings and fold back the part of the bench type rear seatback cover.
2. Remove the nut.
3. Disengage the clamp.
4. Remove the 2 nuts and rear seatback plate together with the rear seat airbag assembly.
5. Disengage the clamp.
6. Remove the 2 nuts and rear seat airbag assembly from the rear seatback plate.
  
  Note
  
  The nuts must not be reused.
