LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT INSPECTION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT (TRIP SWITCH) (for LHD)


    1. Check the resistance.


      1. A01QD95C02
        *1 Up switch
        *2 Down switch
        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        3 (IG) - 5 (E) Up switch pressed Below 1 Ω
        3 (IG) - 5 (E) Up switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
        3 (IG) - 5 (E) Down switch pressed 1.7 to 1.8 kΩ
        3 (IG) - 5 (E) Down switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).

    2. Check illumination.


      1. A01QD95C03
        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))

        Apply battery voltage to the light control rheostat (trip switch) and check that it illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 8 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 6 (ILL-)

        Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).

  2. INSPECT LIGHT CONTROL RHEOSTAT (TRIP SWITCH) (for RHD)


    1. Check the resistance.


      1. A01Q8QLC05
        *1 Up switch
        *2 Down switch
        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))

        Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
        3 (IG) - 5 (E) Up switch pressed Below 1 Ω
        3 (IG) - 5 (E) Up switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher
        3 (IG) - 5 (E) Down switch pressed 1.7 to 1.8 kΩ
        3 (IG) - 5 (E) Down switch not pressed 10 kΩ or higher

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).

    2. Check illumination.


      1. A01Q8QLC06
        *a

        Component without harness connected

        (Light Control Rheostat (Trip Switch))

        Apply battery voltage to the light control rheostat (trip switch) and check that it illuminates.

        OK
        Condition Specified Condition

        Battery positive (+) → Terminal 8 (ILL+)

        Battery negative (-) → Terminal 6 (ILL-)

        Illuminates

        If the result is not as specified, replace the light control rheostat (trip switch).
