LIGHTING SYSTEM Instrument Panel Illumination Circuit

DESCRIPTION

The main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) controls the instrument panel illumination lights.

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • Recognition code registration is necessary when replacing the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU).

  • If the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) is replaced, refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (INTERIOR PANEL RELAY)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Main Body / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 INTEGRATION RELAY - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

      (to No. 2 Integration Relay)

      Disconnect the No. 2 integration relay connector.

    2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Voltage
      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      2G-1 (ALT) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
      2B-7 (BATT) - Body ground
      2B-8 (IG1A) - Body ground Engine switch on (IG)
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      2B-10 (GNDB) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      2A-22 (GNDA) - Body ground

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (NO. 2 INTEGRATION RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU (MULTIPLEX NETWORK BODY ECU))


    1. Disconnect the 2A No. 2 integration relay connector.

    2. Disconnect the K10 main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      2A-14 (PNLS) - K10-5 (PANL) Always Below 1 Ω
      2A-14 (PNLS) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
