IMMOBILISER SYSTEM Security Indicator Light Does not Blink

DESCRIPTION

The certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) blinks the security indicator light when the immobiliser is set (engine switch off, or driver door opened and closed with engine switch on (IG)).

  • The immobiliser system uses the CAN communication system. Inspect the communication function by following How to Proceed with Troubleshooting. Troubleshoot the immobiliser system after confirming that the communication systems are functioning properly.

  • When using the GTS with the engine switch off, connect the GTS to the DLC3 and turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less until communication between the GTS and the vehicle begins. Then select Model Code "KEY REGIST" under manual mode and enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start(CAN). While using the GTS, periodically turn a courtesy light switch on and off at intervals of 1.5 seconds or less to maintain communication between the GTS and the vehicle.

  • Before replacing the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) or main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU), refer to Service Bulletin.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK FOR DTC


    1. Check for DTCs.


      Body Electrical > Entry&Start > Trouble Codes
      Powertrain > Engine > Trouble Codes

  2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (IMMOBILISER INDICATOR)


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    3. Turn the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Entry&Start / Active Test.

    5. Perform the Active Test according to the display on the GTS.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT (RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY))


    1. Disconnect the K74 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Disconnect the K57*1 or r1*2 security indicator light (radio receiver assembly) connector.


      • *1: w/o Canister Pump Module

      • *2: w/ Canister Pump Module

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

  4. CHECK CERTIFICATION ECU (SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY)


    1. Reconnect the K74 certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) connector.

    2. Reconnect the K57*1 or r1*2 security indicator light (radio receiver assembly) connector.


      • *1: w/o Canister Pump Module

      • *2: w/ Canister Pump Module

    3. Using an oscilloscope, check the waveform.
