NAVIGATION SYSTEM AVC-LAN Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Each unit of the navigation system connected to the AVC-LAN (communication bus) transmits switch signals via AVC-LAN communication.

If a short to +B or short to ground occurs in an AVC-LAN communication lines, the navigation system will not function normally because communication is not possible.

PROCEDURE


  1. INSPECT RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the radio receiver assembly.

      Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (AVC-LAN CIRCUIT)


    1. for 8 Inch Display


      1. Disconnect the K57 radio receiver assembly connector.

      2. Disconnect the K52 multi-display connector.

      3. Disconnect the e1 rear control switch connector.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance
        Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
        K57-45 (TX3+) - K52-7 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
        K57-46 (TX3-) - K52-19 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
        K52-6 (TX1+) - e1-14 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
        K52-18 (TX1-) - e1-15 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω
        K57-45 (TX3+) or K52-7 (TX+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        K57-46 (TX3-) or K52-19 (TX-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        K52-6 (TX1+) or e1-14 (TX+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
        K52-18 (TX1-) or e1-15 (TX-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
    2. for 12.3 Inch Display


      1. Disconnect the K57 radio receiver assembly connector.

      2. Disconnect the K126 multi-display connector.

      3. Disconnect the e1 rear control switch connector.

      4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

        Standard Resistance

        K57-45 (TX3+) - K126-7 (TX+) Always Below 1 Ω
        K57-46 (TX3-) - K126-19 (TX-) Always Below 1 Ω

        K57-45 (TX3+) or K126-7 (TX+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

  3. INSPECT MALFUNCTIONING PARTS


    1. Disconnect and reconnect each slave unit one by one until the master unit returns to normal.

      Tech Tips


      • Check all slave units.

      • If disconnecting a slave unit causes the master unit to return to normal, the slave unit is defective and should be replaced.
