  17. SEPARATE STEERING SLIDING YOKE WITH SHAFT SUB-ASSEMBLY

    1. B002F0IN01

      Loosen the bolt (A).

      Note

Do not remove the bolt (A).

    2. Remove the bolt (B).

    3. B002DK6C01
      *a Matchmark

Slide the steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly and put matchmarks on the steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly and the power steering link assembly.

    4. Separate the steering sliding yoke with shaft sub-assembly from the power steering link assembly.

  18. SEPARATE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY LH

    1. Remove the clip and nut.

    2. Install 2 spacers (SST spacer B) to the tie rod assembly LH as shown in the illustration.

      09960-20010   ( 09961-02060 )

      Note

      • Make sure that SST is securely positioned on the steering knuckle spacer.

      • Make sure that the clearance between the steering knuckle and spacers (SST spacer B) is 1 mm (0.0394 in.) or more to prevent damage to SST.

    3. Using SST, separate the tie rod assembly LH from the steering knuckle.

      SST
      09960-20010   ( 09961-02010 )

      Note

      • Apply molybdenum grease to the bolt threads and the tip of SST.

      • Be sure to tighten the string firmly to secure SST to the steering knuckle to prevent SST from falling off.

      • Install SST so that (A) and (B) shown in the illustration are parallel. Otherwise, the ball joint dust cover may be damaged.

      • Be sure to place the wrench on the part shown in the illustration.

      • Do not damage the ball joint dust cover.

      • Do not damage the steering knuckle.

      • Do not damage the front disc brake dust cover.

If the steering knuckle spacer has come off, replace the steering knuckle with a new one.

  19. SEPARATE TIE ROD ASSEMBLY RH

    Tech Tips

Perform the same procedure as for the LH side.

  20. REMOVE POWER STEERING LINK ASSEMBLY

    1. B002E6V

Disconnect the 2 wire harness clamps and 3 connectors, and then disconnect the wire harness from the power steering link assembly.

      Tech Tips

Pull up the lock and release the lock lever to disconnect the connector which uses a lock.

    2. B002EBM

Remove the 2 bolts, 2 washers, 2 nuts, and power steering link assembly from the front suspension crossmember sub-assembly.
