CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during parking brake actuator with bracket assembly removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. RELEASE PARKING BRAKE


    1. With the engine switch on (IG), operate the electric parking brake switch assembly to release the parking brake. Then turn the engine switch off.

      Tech Tips

      If the parking brake cannot be released, use the luggage compartment's parking brake release tool to manually release the parking brake.

  2. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  3. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  4. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

      Remove the bolt and parking brake plunger protector.

    2. Disconnect the connector.

    3. Disengage the clamp to separate the electric parking brake actuator harness.

    4. Remove the grommet of the electric parking brake actuator harness and pass the connector through the hole to the outside of the vehicle.

  5. REMOVE NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 clips.

    2. Disengage the 7 grommets to remove the No. 1 floor under cover assembly.

  6. DISCONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE

  7. REMOVE REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET


    1. Remove the 6 bolts to disconnect the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly from the rear suspension member sub-assembly.

      Remove the 2 nuts to disconnect the electric parking brake actuator cap.

      Remove the 5 nuts and parking brake actuator assembly with bracket.

  9. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET

      Remove the parking brake cable support bracket in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

  10. REMOVE NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET

      Remove the No. 1 parking brake cable support bracket in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

  11. REMOVE NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET
