DESCRIPTION

When the engine switch is turned on (IG), power is supplied to the parking brake ECU assembly. This DTC is stored if the IG power source is not input to the parking brake ECU assembly when communication with other ECUs occurs.

Both of the following conditions are met:


  1. Engine switch on (IG)

  2. When the ECM communicates with the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) via CAN communication, IG power supply is not received for approximately 3 seconds.

  • Wire harness or connector

  • IG power source circuit

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

Note


  • Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • If the parking brake ECU assembly or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures.

PROCEDURE


  1. READ VALUE USING GTS (IG STATUS / IG SWITCH)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Data List.

    5. Check the values by referring to the table below.

      ON: Engine switch is on (IG)

      OFF: Engine switch is on (ACC) or off

      		 When not normal, IG circuit may be malfunctioning

      ON: IG power source is input into parking brake ECU assembly

      OFF: IG power source is not input into parking brake ECU assembly

  2. CHECK DTC


    1. Clear the DTCs.

      Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Clear DTCs

    2. Turn the engine switch off.

    3. Check for DTCs.

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU ASSEMBLY - LUGGAGE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Disconnect the U29 and U30 parking brake ECU assembly connectors.

    3. Disconnect the 6A luggage room junction block assembly connector.

    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U30-4 (IG) - 6A-49 Always Below 1 Ω
      U30-4 (IG) or 6A-49 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U29-3 (GND1) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
