DESCRIPTION

The parking brake cable tightening/loosening operation is performed by the parking brake actuator's motor.

Both of following conditions are met:


  1. Engine switch on (IG) or electric parking brake switch assembly pulled to lock side with engine switch off.

  2. Power supply voltage and +B voltage are normal, but motor circuit is malfunctioning for approximately 1 second

  • Parking brake actuator assembly

  • Wire harness or connector

  • Parking brake ECU assembly

Note


  • Before disconnecting connectors or fuses, turn the engine switch off and wait 20 seconds or more.

  • If the parking brake ECU assembly or parking brake with bracket actuator assembly is replaced, perform the "Reset Memory" and "Acquire Tension Sensor Zero Point" procedures.

PROCEDURE


  1. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PARKING BRAKE ECU ASSEMBLY - PARKING BRAKE WITH BRACKET ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY)


    1. Disconnect the U29 parking brake ECU assembly connector.

    2. Disconnect the U33 parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      U29-1 (M-) - U33-7 (M-) Always Below 1 Ω
      U29-1 (M-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      U29-2 (M+) - U33-8 (M+) Always Below 1 Ω
      U29-2 (M+) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Disconnect the U33 parking brake with bracket actuator assembly connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
