ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM DTC CHECK / CLEAR


  1. CHECK DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA (with GTS)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Trouble Codes.

    5. Check for DTC.


      Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Trouble Codes

    6. Check the freeze frame data.


      1. When a DTC which has freeze frame data is output, check the freeze frame data and read the vehicle status when the DTC was stored.

  2. CLEAR DTC AND FREEZE FRAME DATA (with GTS)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and the GTS on.

    4. Enter the following menus: Chassis / Electric Parking Brake / Trouble Codes.

    5. Clear DTCs.


      Chassis > Electric Parking Brake > Clear DTCs

      Tech Tips

      If a DTC is cleared, the freeze frame data will also be cleared.

  3. CHECK DTC (without GTS)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. A01QADEC03
      *1 DLC3

      Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

      Note

      Do not connect the wrong terminals, as this will cause parts to be damaged.

    3. Turn the engine switch on (IG), and read the DTCs from the number of blinks of the parking brake indicator light (red).

      Tech Tips


      • If normal, the light blinks at 0.25 second intervals.

      • If DTCs are stored, refer to the Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart.

      • If there is only 1 DTC, the DTC is displayed with a 4.5 second pause in between displays. If there are several DTCs, the DTCs are displayed with a 2.5 second pause in between each code. Once all of the DTCs are displayed, there is a 4.5 second pause and the DTCs are output again.

      • If 2 or more DTCs are stored, the MIL will display the smaller number DTC first.

  4. CLEAR DTC (without GTS)


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. A01QADEC02
      *1 DLC3

      Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

      Note

      Do not connect the wrong terminals, as this will cause parts to be damaged.

    3. Within 5 seconds after turning the engine switch on (IG), pull the electric parking brake switch assembly to the lock side 5 times.

      Note

      If the electric parking brake switch assembly is pulled too fast, it may not respond. If it does not respond, perform the operation again and pull the switch more slowly.

    4. Check that a normal system code is output (parking brake indicator light (red) illuminates for 0.25 seconds and then turns off for 0.25 seconds repeatedly).

      Tech Tips

      If the malfunction continues, the DTC may not be clearable.
