The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the electric parking brake ECU removal/installation are shown below.

Note
After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable fromthe negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from thenegative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
Note
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.
REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM INNER COVER LH
REMOVE ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ECU

Loosen the temporary nut.
Note
Do not remove the temporary nut. If the temporary nut is removed, the electric parking brake ECU with No. 1 junction block assembly may fall and cause damage.
Remove the nut to separate the electric parking brake ECU with No. 1 junction block assembly from the vehicle body.
Remove the temporary nut.
Disengage the clamp to separate the wire harness.
Remove the 2 nuts and separate the No. 1 junction block assembly from the electric parking brake ECU.
Disconnect the 2 connectors to remove the electric parking brake ECU.
