ELECTRIC PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR INSTALLATION

PROCEDURE


  1. INSTALL NO. 2 PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. B002CZW

      Install the No. 2 parking brake cable support bracket in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

  2. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. B002CFL

      Install the No. 1 parking brake cable support bracket in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

  3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE SUPPORT BRACKET


    1. B002EVY

      Install the parking brake cable support bracket in the direction indicated by the arrow shown in the illustration.

  4. APPLY HIGH-TEMPERATURE GREASE

  5. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET


    1. Install the parking brake actuator assembly with bracket with the 5 nuts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
    2. Install the electric parking brake actuator cap with the 2 nuts.

      Torque:
      5.4 N*m  { 55 kgf*cm, 48 in.*lbf }
    3. Install the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly and No. 3 parking brake cable assembly to the rear suspension member sub-assembly with the 6 bolts.

      Torque:
      18 N*m  { 184 kgf*cm, 13 ft.*lbf }
  6. INSTALL REAR SUSPENSION MEMBER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE CABLE

  8. INSTALL NO. 1 FLOOR UNDER COVER ASSEMBLY


    1. Engage the 7 grommets to install the No. 1 floor under cover assembly.

    2. Install the 4 clips.

  9. CONNECT WIRE HARNESS


    1. B002C5WC01
      *1 Grommet
      *a Outside of Vehicle
      *b Inside of Vehicle

      Pass the connector through the hole to the inside of the vehicle and install the grommet of the parking brake actuator harness.

    2. Engage the clamp to install the electric parking brake actuator harness.

    3. Connect the connector.

    4. Install the parking brake plunger protector with the bolt.

      Torque:
      8.0 N*m  { 82 kgf*cm, 71 in.*lbf }
  10. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  11. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE

    Note

    If the parking brake shoe clearance is not adjusted, the parking brake cable end may be damaged.

  12. INSPECT AND ADJUST REAR WHEEL ALIGNMENT

  13. INSPECT SPEED SENSOR SIGNAL

  14. PERFORM INITIALIZATION

  15. PERFORM PARKING BRAKE SHOE BEDDING
