BRAKE BOOSTER(for RHD) REMOVAL

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the brake booster assembly removal/installation are shown below.

Note

Make sure to release vacuum from the brake booster assembly before removing the brake master cylinder sub-assembly from the brake booster assembly.

PROCEDURE


  1. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY WITH BRACKET

  3. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING

    1. Remove the brake pedal return spring from the steering column assembly and push rod pin.

  4. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN

  5. DISCONNECT UNION TO CHECK VALVE HOSE

      Slide the clip and disconnect the union to check valve hose from the brake booster assembly.

  6. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE

      Disengage the clamp and remove the rear No. 1 brake tube.

      Note


      • Do not kink or damage the rear No. 1 brake tube.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the rear No. 1 brake tube from the connecting parts.

  7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 BRAKE TUBE

      Disengage the clamp and remove the front No. 1 brake tube.

      Note


      • Do not kink or damage the front No. 1 brake tube.

      • Do not allow any foreign matter such as dirt or dust to enter the front No. 1 brake tube from the connecting parts.

  8. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER ASSEMBLY

      Remove the 4 nuts and brake booster assembly from the vehicle body.

      Note

      Do not kink or damage the brake lines.

  9. REMOVE BRAKE BOOSTER GASKET


    1. Remove the brake booster gasket from the brake booster assembly.

  10. REMOVE BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER PUSH ROD CLEVIS


    1. Loosen the clevis lock nut and remove the brake master cylinder push rod clevis and clevis lock nut from the brake booster assembly.

  11. REMOVE BRAKE VACUUM CHECK VALVE ASSEMBLY


    1. Remove the brake vacuum check valve assembly from the brake booster assembly.

  12. REMOVE CHECK VALVE GROMMET


    1. Remove the check valve grommet from the brake booster assembly.
