VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM Brake Hold Standby Indicator Light Circuit

DESCRIPTION

When the brake hold switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) is turned on with the engine switch turned on (IG), the brake hold standby indicator light illuminates when brake hold operation is possible.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRE-CHECK


    1. If the brake hold standby indicator light does not illuminate even though the brake hold switch (electric parking brake switch assembly) is pushed, check that the brake hold function operation conditions are met.


      1. The driver's door is closed.

      2. Driver's seat belt is fastened.

      3. The system is normal.

  2. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM


    1. Check if CAN communication system DTCs are output.

  3. CHECK IF BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY CONNECTOR IS SECURELY CONNECTED


    1. Jiggle the skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connectors and wire harnesses vertically and horizontally and check the brake hold standby indicator light status.

      OK
      The connector is securely connected.

  4. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY


    1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

    2. Turn the engine switch off.

    3. Perform the Active Test of the combination meter assembly (meter CPU) using the GTS.

    4. Check the combination meter assembly.

      OK
      The brake hold standby indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the GTS operation.

  5. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING GTS (BRAKE HOLD STANDBY INDICATOR LIGHT)


    1. Turn the engine switch on (IG).

    2. Select the Active Test on the GTS.

  6. INSPECT SATELLITE SWITCH SET


    1. Turn the engine switch off.

    2. Remove the brake hold switch (satellite switch set).

    3. Inspect the brake hold switch (satellite switch set).

  7. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY - SATELLITE SWITCH SET)


    1. Disconnect the A52 skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) connector.

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance
      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A52-3 (PKB) - K129-7 (+B) Always Below 1 Ω
      A52-3 (PKB) or K129-7 (+B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      K129-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
