IGNITION COIL AND SPARK PLUG REMOVAL

CAUTION / NOTICE / HINT

The necessary procedures (adjustment, calibration, initialization, or registration) that must be performed after parts are removed, installed, or replaced during the ignition coil assembly and spark plug removal/installation are shown below.

PROCEDURE


  1. PRECAUTION

    Note

    After turning the engine switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal notices before proceeding with work.

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

    Note

    When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected.

  3. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY


  5. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

      *B for RHD

      Remove the 2 bolts and battery tray.

  6. SEPARATE NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK (for LHD)

      Remove the 2 bolts and nut and separate the No. 1 engine room relay block.

    2. B002DQ9

      Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

  7. SEPARATE NO. 1 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK (for RHD)

      Remove the 2 bolts and nut and separate the No. 1 engine room relay block.

      Disengage the wire harness clamp.

    3. Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

  8. SEPARATE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK (for LHD)

      Remove the bolt and nut and separate the No. 3 engine room relay block.

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

  9. SEPARATE NO. 3 ENGINE ROOM RELAY BLOCK (for RHD)

      Remove the bolt and nut and separate the No. 3 engine room relay block.

    2. B002CA0

      Remove the bolt and wire harness clamp bracket.

  10. SEPARATE SUCTION PIPE SUB-ASSEMBLY

      Remove the bolt and separate the suction pipe sub-assembly from the suction tube bracket.

  11. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

      Disconnect the 8 ignition coil assembly connectors.

    2. Remove the 8 bolts and 8 ignition coil assemblies from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and cylinder head cover sub-assembly LH.

      Note

      If an ignition coil assembly has been struck or dropped, replace it.

      Arrange the removed parts in the correct order.
